From August 13, 1961 to February 9, 1978, Theodore Robert “Ted” Bundy kidnapped, raped and killed ATLEAST 30 women/girls in several states. No one but Bundy knows the real number of victims and it could be so much higher.

I’m so sick and tired of BSL advocates comparing a breed of dog to some of the worst people ever born. Common sense tells you that one is nothing like the other, but we know BSL advocates lack common sense.

Maybe they are just incapable of understanding the difference because many of them lack education past the 6th grade? Maybe the pain pills for their “ailments” are just scrambling their gray matter between their ears? Whatever the reason is- comparing the victims to a well known notorious necrophiliac serial killer to dog bite victims is not only disrespectful to the victims families but the deceased victims. It not only minimizes the horrific actions that Bundy performed on them but it’s telling victims “Oh- you were raped, beaten, kidnapped and strangled? Well, ATLEAST you were not attacked by a pit bull….”

“Bundy was regarded as handsome and charismatic by his young female victims, traits he exploited to win their trust. He typically approached them in public places, feigning injury or disability, or impersonating an authority figure, before overpowering and assaulting them at more secluded locations. He sometimes revisited his secondary crime scenes for hours at a time, grooming and performing sexual acts with the decomposing corpses until putrefaction and destruction by wild animals made further interaction impossible. He decapitated at least 12 of his victims, and kept some of the severed heads in his apartment for a period of time as mementos.”

I’m sorry, but that reads TOTALLY different than a dog attack. Usually you read- “Child left alone”, “child SOMEHOW got into a backyard with a chained dog”, “Somehow the young child is ALONE with the dog” or you read about MULTIPLE attacks /bites by the offending dog.

I have yet to read about a pit bull entering a sorority house- raping and beating their victims to death. “Bundy was an unusually organized and calculating criminal who used his extensive knowledge of law enforcement methodologies to elude identification and capture for years.”

There is no preparing or avoiding monsters like Ted Bundy, they dream, fantasize, breath and live every waking moment in their lives in their sick twisted frame of mind. Dogs are incapable of all of that. Dogs are dogs and its up to you to be a responsible dog owner AND parent.

It’s not rocket science folks- if you have a dog, that has SHOWN aggression and you lock it in a room and leave your kids at home and somehow gets out and attacks your kid- that’s your fault. Blame the dog all you want- but you kept the dog and you felt it was aggressive enough to keep locked in a room- when that dog attacks your child, that’s on your shoulders.

If you keep a dog that has a history of attacking, that has bitten before and it attacks your child- that’s on you. If you leave your child alone with any dog and it bites the child- that’s on you. If you let your kid sit and bounce around on your dog and that dog bites your kid- that’s YOUR fault.

BSL advocates can call me allllllll the names they want, they can hate me all they want- but I’m doing something they refuse to do- hold the person behind the leash responsible across the table. All I hear from BSL advocates is shifting the blame. Shift that blame to everyone and their grandma. I suppose the real reason why BSL advocates don’t want to be held responsible is because they are the guilty party.
