“Sometime between the late evening hours of July 1 and early morning of July 2, one of our adopted dogs, an American Pit Bull Terrier named Morpheus, was lured away from his owners’ property and killed. His body was then dumped near their property where he was found the next morning. A necropsy was performed to determine the cause of death. Morpheus died from a single gunshot wound and his body was moved post mortem.

Morpheus, the black Pit Bull pictured here with Kati and his sister, was just 9 months old. He was an ambassador for his breed. He was a gentle dog who loved everyone he met. In fact, his trust and love of people made him an easy target. We cannot stand by and let his death be just one more act of animal cruelty in our community. We are working with Kati and her husband Erik to offer a reward starting at $2,000 for information that leads to the conviction of the individual(s) responsible for the intentional, malicious killing of a part of their family. Morpheus was family.

We are asking that anyone with information, or who may have seen or heard something in the area of 9700 Cooper Rd. or 8200 Stones Ferry Dr. on the night of Wednesday July 1 and early morning of Thursday July 2, contact Detective Redmon at 317-327-1431 or Crime Stoppers of Indiana at 317-262-TIPS.

According to Borchardt- we will not like how these dogs will be taken out. He warns us that it will not be humane. However, this isn’t the only dusturbing case.

He may be alive today…if someone had just called. Yesterday, our HERO Team responded to a call about a dog suspected to be a victim of abuse who lay deceased in front of a dumpster. We have named the dog Justice. Eyewitnesses reported hearing and seeing a dog “cry out” Monday night in South Kansas City. 

But no one called authorities. No one investigated. 

The dumpster was emptied on Monday morning, and was at least halfway full when our team arrived on Wednesday. This means that countless people walked over the dog to put their trash in the dumpster. Though we do not know who or what caused his injuries, we do know he suffered severe trauma to his neck/head and he was left alone to suffer. Animal abuse should not and will not be tolerated. 

A reward fund of $1,000 has been established for anyone with information about the case or who may be responsible. Tips can be directed to (913) 742-7327. Great Plains SPCA and friends of KC Animals are asking the community to stand up and speak out against animal abuse because ‪#‎PetsDeserveBetter‬. Any citizen who encounters a situation of suspected animal abuse or neglect needs to immediately contact authorities so help can be provided while there is still time and responsible parties are held accountable. Please help us spread the word by sharing this across Facebook and Kansas City.”

Are BSL Advocates a Danger to Our Community?

As BSL Advocates preach about public safety against the threat of pit bull type dogs and a least 20 other breeds of dogs, the question should be asked:

Who is the real danger to our community?

rickfiteWhen we start pulling back the curtain, we find that violence is one of the fundamental building blocks in the BSL advocacy. They dedicate hours every day thinking of ways to kill, torture and maim dogs and inflict emotional and physical harm of the dog owners.  Can you imagine the fear you and your children would be filled with if you were walking your dog and you came across Rick Fite armed with such a devastating weapon? It’s obvious he places zero value on human life as he lets his young child play with the bullets of the deadly weapon.

Intimidation is nothing new to BSL Advocates. In fact, it’s something they rely on as they openly brag about killing.

Intimidation: is intentional behavior that “would cause a person of ordinary sensibilities” fear of injury or harm. It is not necessary to prove that the behavior was so violent as to cause terror or that the victim was actually frightened.

When we discuss public safety as a community we need to start shedding light on the desire to expose our families to violence and harm that BSL advocates openly support. In fact, Intimidation is the name of a criminal offense in several U.S. states. The definitions of the crime of Intimidation differ by state but even beyond that, could the terrorism tactics used by BSL Advocates towards pit bull owners be deemed a a hate crime?

Hate Crime/Bias motivated Crime: is a usually violent, prejudice motivated crime that occurs when a perpetrator targets a victim because of his or her perceived membership in a certain social group.

BSL Advocates openly admit that it’s encouraged to openly mock, shame and harass pit bull type dog owners with the intent of humiliating and harassing.

Can you imagine the emotional trauma inflicted on a child walking their dog with their family and Olivia started flashing and waving her knives? As a society, when is it okay to permit the threat of violence? Can you image the damage and the carnage that Rick Fite would inflict if he opened fire in a public setting? He would not only kill the dog(s) but the possibility of killing and injuring people would almost be a certainty. If Olivia decided to expose her multiple knives and confronted a family or individual walking their dog and she ended up stabbing the dog and owners? Why do BSL Advocates feel they get a free pass on endangering our communities?

They might feel that they do, but history has shown that the public is not tolerant of the behavior. Richard Prince, a former fire fighter demoted and eventually forced into retirement was called out by millions as he spoke about killing and torturing dogs as a fire fighter. Regardless of their own personal beliefs, BSL Advocates do not have the right to terrorize innocent people. BSL Advocates do not have the right to endanger, threaten physical violence and death towards innocent people because they don’t like their dog.

This is why it’s so important that people understand that BSL isn’t just about dogs. Breed Specific Legislation is very much about the people behind the dogs. It’s about a community, it’s about discriminating against millions of people and BSL advocates feel that it’s acceptable to terrorize a certain social group of individuals.

What should make our legislators and communities pause and have great concern when dealing with BSL advocates is their enjoyment in animal abuse. It’s not something they hid, they talk about it, brag about it and find it funny.

Animal abusers are five times more likely to commit violent crimes against people.

In 1985, researchers Stephen Kellert and Alan Felthous extensively studied the animal abuse phenomenon. They discovered several motivations that helped to characterize animal cruelty in adults, many of which are applicable to youth who abuse animals. Some motivations are:

  1. To enhance one’s own aggressiveness. To shock people for amusement.
  2. Controlling an animal through inflicting pain as a result of the sense of loss of full control in one’s own life. (Physically abused by parents.)
  3. Retaliation against a person by hurting their pet.
  4. To experience sadism (the suffering experienced by the animal).

As a society, we really need to be deeply concerned about this issue and how BSL advocates promote such violence. Animal cruelty is becoming more and more publicized in the media and the abuse is becoming heinous and it’s obvious to see the tie between the BSL Advocacy and the recent animal cruelty cases in the media.

STERLING HEIGHTS, Mich. (WJBK) – A decapitated dog was found Saturday on railroad tracks near Mound Road between 14 Mile and 15 Mile roads.
The dog was found by two men who were searching for their missing dog.  The men found a dog tag and called the owners.  The owners of the 6-year-old boxer dog named Layla called police. Turns out, Layla had escaped from her home Friday night while the owners were gone. They believe the dog pushed open a window and knocked a screen out.

Let’s not forget to mention BSL Adocates like “Sarah Howard” who endanger family dogs and families by cyber stalking families that own bully/pit type dogs.

It’s safe to say that this family and their newly adopted dog are now in danger thanks to Sarah as she scours this man’s facebook page and releases any and all private information into private BSL groups.

Unlike Lesley, I blacked out the images of the children’s faces especially considering the pedophilia and bestiality obsessions with many of the BSL Advocates.

As a community, we need to apply pressure on our local judicial authorities to take cases of animal abuse seriously. The laws must speak for themselves, so that each is clear that violence against any sentient beings – whether human or animal – is not acceptable. That means we need to start holding BSL advocates responsible for their behavior- online and offline.

December 07, 2012 – Part One

Stalking, harassing, verbally abusing, exaggerating…. Just another day in the life of BSL Advocate/”Victims Advocate” William Johnson. This isn’t the first time I’ve written about his nasty habit of stalking and harassing families, he’s well known for harassing an autistic girl and her family… all because her family owns a pit bull.

December 07, 2012 is a day that will haunt the Gerome family of Philadelphia PA for the rest of their lives. According to the family, it was just another night- Anthony Gerome’s two daughters were having a sleep over with their friends, including  10 year old Adara Johnson. The parents were downstairs as the girls and their 15 month old pit bull puppy Gigi were in the room with the girls. No one really knows for sure what happened, but 10 year old Adara Johnson was bitten in the face.  The Geromes called 911 and the Johnson family to tell the of the horrible accident. As the two families met in the emergency room, the first words out of the William Johnson’s partner and mother of Adara- Jean Marie Jachinowicz  was:

“Do you have homeowners insurance?”

From that moment, the Gerome family had no idea just how their lives would change. One thing I want to make sure everyone knows is that Anthony Gerome has never denied that he feels responsible for the tragedy that happened under his roof. He has publically acknowledged that he had no issues paying the medical bills because he felt responsible for those and at first, the Gerome family were more than willing to be financially responsible. According to Mrs. Gerome, offered the Johnson family 200$ at first to put towards the medical bill and was ready to make future payments except William Johnson refused to accept any payment after the 200$. The Gerome had this sinking feeling that William Johnson was preparing to sue the family, which he did- and has done so much more.

As William Johnson publically mocks this family on facebook, playing his pity card- he fails to mention the horror that he has put the Gerome family through.

Helenanne Gerome, the wife of Anthony Jerome is devastated by the actions of William Johnson. William Johnson has made it his mission to physically stalk and harass this family and the emotional toll of the abuse that William Johnson is giving is starting to show.  When  asked if William has been stalking him and his family, Mr. Gerome states:

” Yes every where I go to work or out with my family”.

Which William confirms with his public posting in his hate group, The Pit Bull Propaganda Machine Revealed:

I’m sure Mr. Gerome took offense with the continuous stalking of his family, although I doubt that he just “ran” into Mr. Gerome- in fact, William finds it funny, the taunting and stalking of Mr. Gerome…

The funny thing, which I will dive deeper into the follow up on this post is that according to sources- the medical costs of Adara’s was covered by state assisted healthcare. The Johnsons did not pay a single dime- but that story is for another day.

As William plasters this family’s info everywhere, he forgets to tell the whole story (how shocking……) We all know that there are people that shirk from their responsibilities when it comes to dog attacks, but the Gerome family is the complete opposite of that. The Gerome family has gone above and beyond to right this horrible accident.

Helenanne Gerome worried about the traumatic accident affecting the girls who witnessed the bite set up counseling for all the girls there and the only one who refused the help was the Johnson family. Sometimes we forget that there are multiple victims in this tragedy, the two Gerome girls have suffered just as much if not more harassment than the adults at the hands of William Johnson and his thirst for vengeance.

After the bite, Anthony Gerome automatically euthanized Gigi. He states it was one of the hardest things to do. Gigi was his daughter’s dog, her best friend- and for two solid weeks his daughter cried herself to sleep. What makes things even worse are the rumors William Johnson helped fuel at the children’s school- making claims that the family commanded their 15 month old puppy Gigi to attack Adara Johnson. Because of these malicious false rumors, the school did not want the Gerome girls to return. These girls suffered a great loss and still are dealing with the emotional trauma and the affects of bullying by adults.

William Johnson’s philosophy is that no dog ever has a reason to bite a person. He doesn’t care what a child does to a dog- which makes me believe there is more to this story that William doesn’t want the public to know- like what really happened in that room on December 7, 2012.

What we do know is- two families lives have been changed. The Gerome family has attempted to be responsible, to pick up the pieces and start to heal as a family but are tired of dealing with the onslaught of harassment from William Johnson, can you blame them? The Gerome family isn’t done fighting yet- during the first court case, Mr. Gerome informed the judge of the harassment and stalking by William Johnson during the trial and when they go back, thanks to Williams big mouth- there will be plenty of evidence to help support the Gerome family.

The Little Red Dog

I honestly meant for this post to be about other things. Filled with anger, vengeance, sarcasm, mocking- the usual, completely justified and aimed at yet another BSL advocate but as I was reading, I had remembered something. No matter how hard BSL advocates bitch, whine and cry- these dogs that they hate so much prove them wrong every day and no one should know that better than Liz Marsden.

Liz Marsden, a former dog trainer, former employer at Washington Animal Rescue League, current active and proud card carrying BSL supporter knows first-hand, whether she wants to admit it to her new fan club or not- just how full of shit they are.

 “In fact, pit bull breeds come from 100 percent fighting dog stock. They’re genetically fitted to attack with no triggers and to keep attacking until their victims are dead.” – Liz Marsden

Life states differently. Contrary to DBO belief, “creating” a fighting dog is incredibly difficult.

“Even Louis Colby, a renowned breeder and reformed dogfighter, has said that if you mated two champion dogs and harvested a litter of twelve pups, there might be one champion in the group.” – Lost Dogs

If anything Michael Vicks dogs proved that. Michael Vicks proved that no matter how much money you had, breeding dogs to be successful fighters is by chance. Even with the genetics and the man made hell environment- these dogs obliterate the genetic argument. They prove that both nature and nurture go hand in hand.

“I worked for the Washington Animal Rescue League in 2007 when eleven of the Michael Vick pit bulls were kept there for several months, pending permanent resolution. So I have much more experience with this topic than the average person”- Liz Marsden

Even though Liz enjoys embellishing her actual role (lying her ass off…) with her interaction with 11 amazing pit bulls rescued from the Vicks property, which is pretty standard for the majority of BSL supporters, but what they forget is the truth shall set them free…from their lies.

“Liz was contracted along with another trainer to evaluate and suggest enrichment for them during their stay with us, We have placed dogs transferred here from the ASPCA after fighting dog busts so you can see that her opinion(s) is not that of the League ”- Washington Anima; Rescue League

In reality, Liz Marsden had absolutely nothing to do with what would happen to these beyond thinking of ways to entertain these dogs while being held in secret from October to January. She did not train or handle these dogs in ay professional rehabilitating capacity- if she had, she would know just how human oriented these dogs were to the point of amazing the staff at WARL. Evaluations of these 11 and the rest of the dogs were done by Dr. Z, Donna Reynolds Co-Founder, Executive Director of BADRAP and Tim Racer CFO, Co-Founder of BADRAP, three certified animal behaviorists from their group. A 8 person team that did not include Liz Marsden whatsoever. Either way, out of all of these dogs, including the 11 held a WARL which were some of the most difficult cases, only one was euthanized for aggression.

“That last dog was the overbred female who had been so aggressive that the team had not even been able to evaluate. Less than two weeks later, on October 1, a court order approved the measure and a black female pit bull, known only as #2621, which had been forcibly bred to the point that she’d turned violent, was given a lethal injection of sodium pentobarbital. Within minutes, her suffering was ended. ”- Lost Dogs page 397

47 dogs are living happily and are loved in their individual homes. Some homes for a select few may be at Best Friends, but home is where they are loved, protected and cherished which those at Best Friends do very well. Contrary to Liz and her exaggerated credentials, these dogs may have been bred to be fighters but their genetics refused to let them be that and many dogs on the Vicks property paid the ultimate price for failing epically.

A little red dog, one of many whose genetics refused to let her be the monster Liz Marsden and her fellow hate mongers wanted her to be and because of that- that little red dog was beat, drowned and while still alive was swung by her feet by a millionaire football player against a tree over and over until she finally died, then thrown in a pit like trash.

47 dogs and millions of others show the world that genetics is a very small slice in a very large pie and Liz Marsden can continue to support animal abusers like Richard Prince but every day she has to live with the fact that 47 dogs are living proof of just how wrong she is.

That little red dog is proof of just how wrong Liz Marsden is.

Dear BSL Advocates,

Even though Freedom of Speech in the United States is a constitutional right, its a very limited right. I understand that this topic can be rather difficult since it basically says that: even though you can say anything you want to say- you are not always protected by the 1st amendment. In fact- the majority of your violent rants about killing things are not protected and that includes Mr. Richard Prince’s violent instructions on how to kill and torture pit bulls.

Lets take a gander at what’s not covered by the 1st amendment:

1. Incitement

Schenck v. United States (1919), which simply decided that a “clear and present danger” could justify a congressional rule limiting speech.

You know, when Jeff’s new fishing buddy was talking/encouraging people to stab, beat, duct tape, chain saw, sledge hammer, choke, run over and anally probe a pit bull?  Nope, not protected.

2. False statements of fact  

In Gertz v. Robert Welch, Inc. (1974), the Supreme Court decided that there is “no constitutional value in false statements of fact.

A great example: “ALL pit bulls are purpose bred fighting dogs that will eat you for Thanksgiving.” Nooooope. Not protected either!

3. Fighting Words

In Chaplinsky v. New Hampshire (1942), the Supreme Court held that speech is unprotected if it constitutes “fighting words”. Fighting words, as defined by the Court, is speech that “tend[s] to incite an immediate breach of the peace” by provoking a fight, so long as it is a “personally abusive [word] which, when addressed to the ordinary citizen, is, as a matter of common knowledge, inherently likely to provoke a violent reaction“.  Additionally, such speech must be “directed to the person of the hearer” and is “thus likely to be seen as a ‘direct personal insult’.  Along with fighting words, speech might be unprotected if it either intentionally, knowingly, or recklessly inflicts severe emotional distress.

You know, when you attack innocent dog owners and their families? When you post their address and steal pictures of their children and you threaten to go kick their asses or pay “visits”? Riiiiiiight- totally not protected.

4. Threats

Threats of violence that are directed at a person or group of persons that has the intent of placing the target at risk of bodily harm or death are generally unprotected.

Well…. every day you threaten bodily harm and death….

So, yes- you are free to say whatever you want, however- stop trying to hide behind the 1st amendment because it won’t protect you…

Lesley’s insightful post about the father, high on crack, with a history of drug dealing, with complaints of aggressive dogs AND fell asleep after his crack binge who was 100% at fault for the deadly mauling of his son:

“How difficult this is, to prosecute a bereaved parent. To add to the grief and guilt.

But we are approaching the point where very few parents do not know or cannot know, on some level, the dangers of these dogs. And sadly, there exists a plethora of parents who know full WELL what these dogs can be like, who KNOW that they kill and mutilate children on a regular basis, but who simply refuse to believe that THEIR own dog would do so a thing.

To be put on trial is the right thing to do. Even if no punishment is administered, or sparse punishment given, it sends out a message to ALL parents who CHOOSE to combine a Pit dog or any other KNOWN dangerous breed or type of dog, with their own precious child.

A child is a gift to the world. It is NOT just the creature of its own family. The world must mourn the loss of a child. And ask questions WHY a child died, and could that death have been prevented BY theprimary care-givers of that child – the parents. In this case, the death was preventable. ALL child deaths from Pit dog attack are preventable.

Asking questions is no longer enough. The parent must stand accused. At the end of the day that each broken child no longer sees, we must stand up for the child robbed of his life, robbed of her life. And even if that parent is not punished by the law, the parent must stand in front of the world and be seen to be ‘on trial’. The message must be clear to all those who gamble with the child/Pit dog combination – YOU WILL BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE so that other innocent children will live, even though YOURS did not.

Uh… nope. It’s totally not difficult to press charges on parents induced by crack who causes their 4 year old son to be killed by known aggressive dogs. I sure as hell hope those parents feel grief and guilt. This is what I don’t understand- they want to call those of us who are the responsible majority the dangerous ones yet…. they want to excuse the NEGLIGENT ones because…. why? It doesn’t take brains to figure out how or why that 4 year old boy was killed.  But I do agree- the majority of all child related deaths from pit dogs are preventable… however that would mean irresponsible parties need to stop blaming a dog and taking responsibility for their actions… but of course, that would mean they would have to be responsible and we know that won’t ever happen in that group.

Wait- isn’t that what BSL advocates call victim blaming? Well, if Lesley the Ninja, the old Jedi of the BSL advocates says this is what must be done….  lets put those irresponsible parties in front of the world and be put to “trial”.

I have taken a pause to collect my thoughts. Sometimes wading in the ocean of insanity gets overwhelming.

So, you would think after the epic disaster of the Salem witch trials we, as society would have learned and moved on. Well, this woman is still stuck in the past.
